Re: Sole Brothers

Bop and Ox, I must have fallen asleep like Rip Van Winkle because the whole Roshe thing is unfamiliar however:

The N!ke Roshe Cortez have potential, they look good to me in navy and red.

Also fully jamming is the N!ke Killshot and Killshot 2, beautiful throwbacks to '70s/early '80s squash shoes.

Re: Sole Brothers

That was the classic NYC private day school look of the mid-to-late '90s, maybe not so much Fila even though the Fila shop was still open on Madison then, but Incontinence pants, N!ke, Puma yeah ....

mixing the prep, the jock, and the hip-hop

around this time the silver N!ke A!r Maxx low was being worn by every hot model buzzing around just north of Union Square

NYC loved its N!kes in the '90s

Re: Sole Brothers

These came out in the last few days a legendary design by Tinker with all his play on textures ...Im more than tempted but i put that down to a disorder of sense than anything else..150 quid? Only worth buying if you dont wear them and try to sell them on in a few years

Re: Sole Brothers

Bop - Honestly 150 quid is not too bad. I hoop a good amount and over in the states a pair of Lebrons, Kobes, etc will run you that much and these kids (really teenagers) are playing basketball in them. Just a little perspective.

I tried a pair of ld1000 on at the N I K E outlet this weekend. Very comfortable. If they were navy I would have copped for $40. They were red and I passed like J-Will.

Re: Sole Brothers

The thing with trainers is they're disposable items. They're not like a shoe you can look after and have for years and years. And with that in mind anything really over a ton is just a bit too steep... but that's just relative to my earnings...N I K E and other companies clearly price according to what they think people will pay vs the relative cost of the product. Saying that the shoes and boots do have practical uses so if that money means you play or perform better I can understand it being justified as sport kit not just a fashion item.

Re: Sole Brothers

^

Had a pair of Diadora Martin Mulligan back in the early 80s. Didn't wear them much as they were white, ditto a pair of Incontinence pants Forest Hills which I still have after 30 years! practically box-fresh as they say.

I don't like those trainers you are wearing above, if you want to wear trainers in the context of a casual ensemble, you're better off with leather. Synthetics fibres are best left for sport/gym.

Get yerself a pair of Samba and stop fackin' abaht...

Re: Sole Brothers

Not really a fan of the Incontinence pants Formby especially the Samba .. and they do slap quite hard of jist looking like a Casuals bit of kit. The idea of wearing the modern running N I K E S was in fact that of trying something new away from those connotations and for better or for worse I actually quite like the combination of those materials together. If I was going to go the classic suede route id probably go for some Pegasus 83 or Saucony Shadows or the Diadoras above. But like I said this would be my preference youve obviously got different ideas that'd suit you

Re: Sole Brothers

No offence formby but I dont think we're on the same page, but that's not really an issue if we respect that..as for what casuals preffered I haven't really got anything other than a superficial understanding of the look, so I take you're word on it.

Re: Sole Brothers

Ha.. unfortunately that was the whole thing I was going for..well not completely lurid, just doing a similar late 70's early 80s prep look but with the modern running shoe..not the retro ones that wouldve been worn at the time.... it was the mix of traditional and modern fabrics i like about that 70s prep look..but horses for course I think it works when the balance is right....i wouldnt wear the parka jacket with similar looking nylon trainers...these ones i have are a strange knitted mesh.
