Another honor society inductee, huh? I'm afraid there's scant room for two of us 'round here. But if we must force the issue, then I'll just say, "nice outfit." I'm partial to some other shoes, but those really do fit the fact that you're a professor. I don't mean that as a dig, it's just that your look makes me nostalgic for a hard seat, a pile of books, and cramped fingers.
Thank you, WM. I'm no perfessor. A bit lower on the totem pole, for better or worse, merely a humble staffer. But yes, I'm partial to the college prof look myself.
Ah. My mistake.
Of course, no professor--or anybody on campus--dresses Ivy these days or anywhere close to it, except the occasional oddball like me. Even back in my era, when the lime green leisure suit ruled the planet, profs dressed far better than they do now.
Sartorial concerns aside, I've always enjoyed working on a university campus, if for no other reason than the great libraries and their generous borrowing times. I practically fill my bookshelves year by year with my university library loans.

Dermon, I think those Oxfords, although very nice shoes, are maybe a little dressy for the cords. Take note from the hulking bluchers coming down on your head up there. Some bucks would look really nice with that. Or maybe even some long wingtips. I think the closed lacing of the Oxford almost requires a suit. Nice stuff all around though.
Woof, you handsome rake, you, what's your review of the H&J?
^I agree with you on that. I'm in the market for some gunboats. Got my eye on a pair of old Hanovers.
Yeah. Them'll do it.

^ I like cuffs on chinos and flannels. but for cords I've shied away from them. I need to make a pants order soon to get away from the BB Clark fits (terrible rise) so I might try that out with some O'Cs cords.
WM now that's a solid look in that Topsman, you are knocking it out of the park recently
The cords and Paraboot combo looks great woof, quite inspiring for the weekend in fact.
That's a nice look derm, but agree the shoes not quite 'on point' - my option would be suede chukkas or 'grain' split toes with that ensemble, to add another texture to the mix.
Special mention in dispatches for new members Chipper, MJC and Leelo, great to have you on (the) board fellas
For trousers, there's just no need to look elsewhere. ... unless budget is an issue. The O'C's trousers don't come cheap, but for a quality item that should provide years of service, they hit the mark.
Acton and WM: Agreed. O'Cs is where it's at. I've put off buying some for too long. It seems every time I go to pull the trigger, I find some old J. Press jacket on eBay and can't resist. I need to put the eBay down for a while.

Just fyi, the cuffed cords I featured are Lands' End traditional fit plain front 10-wale cords. Pretty decent, especially for the price, although you have to be okay with a medium rise.
