Euros 2016

Well the opening day's upon us. I really don't expect anything other than disappointment from England in this tournament. Quite a few flavour of the month players in the squad, and I think we'll only progress from our group because it's a shite group - barring the Ruskies, which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I'm going to watch France's opening game tonight, and England's tomorrow.

I think EspaƱa will triumph again, and with 9/2 odds I've had a little flutter on them as well....

Re: Euros 2016

We're stuffed before its began. What the hell was Woy doing in the last game? I reckon we're a bit weak at the back for the top teams. Harry K and Vardy up front for me. Both players are in great form, playing them out of position is pants. Agree Spain gotta a good chance. Home soil might tip it for France though. Once Kante shows what he can do Leicester can squeeze another couple of million out of The Rent Boys. But I hope he stays. Top player.

Re: Euros 2016

The only real weakness in the England team is Hodgson. Yesterday against Wales he nearly blew it. Why isn't Vardy starting the game? I believe this England squad is the best for some time. Hart needs to calm down though.

Poor performance against the Russkie hooligans though.

Re: Euros 2016

Thats what I wanna know Robbie. What is Woy doing? Vardy is banging them in for fun. Top form, fastest player in the tournament, great control and feet, Prem winner, PFW player of the year, record breaker. Come on Woy, get it together.

Re: Euros 2016

There's a few various outcomes tonight if we lose or draw, but all we need to do is win. If we can't beat Slovakia then we really deserve to be on the first plane home.

Ideally finishing top suits us with the second place of another group, a bit like the CL groups - so I hope we don't fuck it up!

Re: Euros 2016

I am still optimistic that England can take on and beat the better, more attacking minded teams. They may be exposed, however, if the opposition go ahead and then adopt a defensive mode. England don't seem to have the tactical nous to break down a well organised defence.
Young man, Brian Clough the best manager England never had?

That was a very uninspired performance yesterday. Look up the Chile-Mexico highlights for good, attacking football.

Re: Euros 2016

England vs Iceland will be a game that England would have taken before the tournament but England will face yet another team who will be defending for most of the game. If Roy can't win this one he won't get a new contract. We have never lost to Iceland. Time for our forwards to score a few.

Re: Euros 2016

I'm glad it's not Portugal next, or it would've been a long night. I could also see Ronaldo probably getting Alli sent off. Alli's a fiesty young lad that could be wound up easily. He's a red card waiting to happen.

Russia - everyone behind the ball
Wales - everyone behind the ball
Slovakia - everyone behind the ball and then take off attackers to bring on more defenders.

I just hope we can find opportunities against a side who wants to attack us.

Chris Coleman for England manager? Or is the job beneath him?
