Thanks!
still wearing the hell out of my gold Birdwells but also went to the beach a couple of times last week and was forced into the water in old blue J. Press poplin walk shorts with Brooks (tie-back this time) boxers ....
came home and changed into fresh Incontinence pants and Champion then later into Press and Brooks and then to N!ke and Vans and then O'Connell's and Andover and then Gildan and Puma and then Levi's and Aldens and on and on and on on and on ... y'all know the rest ...........
^ Wow. Most of my work days are spent in Lands End chinos and Brooks no-iron BBs these days. No tie, no jacket, and some old Bean blucher mocs. Panama hat or bucket hat, sunglasses are de riguer.
I've found when the temps spike in the 90s, with indices in the hundreds, these no-iron shirts fit the bill nicely. They're lightweight, breathe nicely, and require only minimal touch-up ironing (if I'm so inclined).
In the evening I've been changing into my burgundy Birdwells and an old J. Crew tee. It's too hot to swim, though. I haven't been near a pool for a few weeks now.

/\ haha obviously all those wardrobe changes were over the course of the past 40 years, not over the course of a day .........
reading this thread is sending me to the pool for a dip but I wish I had access to a few different pairs of trunks, for variety's sake you know .....
want-list is ballooning exponentially but some Birdies are on it as always:
t-shirts, sneakers, Birdwells, sneakers, t-shirts, huge secret vintage sub-list, blucher moccasins, boxers, sunglasses, briefcase, striped crew socks, hoodie, ........
Always good to keep track of yer wants, I sez. Of late my vinyl addiction has taken over again and I've no money for clothes. But I've scored some choice slabs for really not too much coin.
I know want-lists have their own thread but I ramble on ....
like the ace I am deep in summer slouch mode for the next month or so .....
I describe my hot-weather deep-summer look as East Coast prep/hip-hop jock except when I'm in the water, that's pure '60s Cali .......
I know Ox and Bop and A to the _B and Marley Marl and possibly even Captain Horrible can get down with my patented flips/Incontinence pants/N!ke/Vans/Cons/Puma/Neww Balance summer mess
... which is the same as my winter mess except I add a hoodie when it's cold .....
however when I do wear proper clothes they're the Ivy or, as I know it, plain old American preppy ... natural fibers except for the polyester in Brooks and Press poplin and in 60/40 parkas and a couple of other things .....
what a gas when people on the net posted those old J. Press, Bean, and Brooks Brothers catalogue pages from the late '70s/early '80s ... there it all is ....
most differences between Ivy and preppy can be resolved by a good alterations tailor .........
I came here to try to encourage people to shop at J. Press, now my work is done, but I stay for the tunes, pics, pals, priceless patter, and to learn about life from The Wizard.
/\ The Wizards ... there is more than one wizard here ..................
The business ^
Great shirt Captain, and the usual classic look from Ox - top work fellas!

Bit too beige for me that Oli, I like neutral shades but feel that's gone too far.
I am sensing that Oli is channeling Orvis. And now that the calendar has turned to August, some might be thinking of autumnal clothes, even though summer is far from over.
I am reminded of Jack Lemmon... In Grumpy Old Men
