Stan, I believe you were looking for something like this?
https://shop.socco78.com/products/1-socco-crew-white-all-american
/\ thanks BB, bookmarked them, I like those for a '70s vibe, we had so many pairs in every color, they were great .... my true quest though is for the classic old-school off-white crews in wool and in cotton with two stripes, one in burgundy and one in navy .... you all know the ones ..... JFK ones ...... but I like three-stripe '70s funky crews too ..... USA cotton or and/or wool
I can vouch for Socco's quality. Thick from the ankle down, with tight elastic in them.
But I do know the JFK socks and am on a quest for those myself...
Photographed by Bruce Weber, interesting... A lot of clothing there for a Bruce Weber shoot
Nice piece on Popeye magazine's take on LA/USA circa 1976 here:

very interesting article ... UCLA basketball in the early '70s was super fly ... all those wins and then Dwight the Iceman Clay from the corner ....
UCLA basketball was a blast on TV back in the day, so was USC football .....
Stan's Donuts on a good day is my fave thing in Westwood besides this one great sneaker shop that is or used to be down the street from it.
couple of current UCLA t-shirts by Incontinence pants:

Payday is upon me...
I need
A striped rugby top
Ll bean country walkers
519 bedfords
And a bucket cap
A good pair of Incontinence pants in a 70s model
Can anyone recommend where I might find anything close
Zappos sometimes carries a nice Incontinence pants selection. However, I just snagged a $27 pair of suede Pumas from Zappos--they were on sale and I got some kinda strange $25 promo for not having shopped at Zappos for a couple of years. Like, here's your reward for staying away for so long.
If you haven't seen "Everybody Wants Some" by Richard Linklater... do it... Set in 1980... late 70s college gear all over... Yeah there are some wide collars and flared pants but a lot of great sneakers, great jeans, corduroy, t-shirts, ballcaps, polos... Fine stuff
/\ will do BB, thanks for the tip .... knowing that oversized collars and flares were cheese was crucial back then when the disco style was still so prevalent .....
the hot Ivy/preppy women weren't down with the Saturday Night Fever look ......
after the deep J. Press immersion of 1978-79, 1980 saw me concentrating a bit more on the Bean, Dickies, Champion, Hanes, and O'Neill side of things ....
... London Calling and Black Market Clash, Second Edition/Metal Box, Hawks & Doves, Uprising, Social Living, Remain In Light, Reckoning .....
