You can pretty much guarantee that none of them ever considered that 71 years later people around the globe would be studying the photo purely to discuss the clothes.
Good point Yuca... something tells me that's exactly why the clothes are so good!
Some will hate this next batch. It's a Dartmouth selection from 1970-78 and on first appearances there may seem to be very little 'Ivy" here. But look harder and you'll find outliers, remnants of Ivy past, still clinging on among the sideburns and denim.

Sidewinder, great to see this thread return, and with great pics... Far from hating these last few they're right up my alley, always great to see the evolutions and convolutions of Ivy... Keep 'em coming...
/\ awesome batch of Holdout Ivy mixed with Rugged Prep, '70s Prep, Rugged Nerd, and Hippie Prep! Fantastic stuff Sidewinder, thanks and keep 'em coming!
Amazing stuff, I want to make a few detailed comments on these pics shortly, but this is an era I'm very familiar with and these people are very familiar to me ......
the pic with the kids draped over the Mustang, the down jacketed guy in the ringer tee with the star on his chest and the blue jeans .....
it's a scene out of a Yankee Dazed and Confused, they could be getting ready to bomb over to the nearest Friendly's for a Fribble .....
a lot of this stuff should be cross-posted in the Late '70s Prep Checklist thread
Some will hate this next batch.
I doubt it. For all the sartorial disasters of the 70s, it certainly had its sartorial moments. And they got rid of all the too tight, too short 60s styles that took ivy into caricature.
Or in other words: thanks, nice shots.
