I am more a Vans Off the Wall man myself but the Top-Sider CVO is certainly a good option. Love the ad.

Armchaired, though I am no longer a poster on Talk Ivy (this being the exception that proves the rule), that doesn't preclude me from being an avid reader. I am very grateful for your series of advertising and editorial images showing Ivy style menswear over the years. Your efforts with this longitudinal perspective are HUGELY important in showing the changing textures, lapel widths and other lacunae-filling examples of the Ivy Look.

You are owed a huge debt for curating this information. Thank you, Sir!

Love Keds.

70s ads could have an odd disconnection from real life. I never knew any respectable couple who deliberately wore matching clothes.

Re: The Ivy League Style: The Boom Years.

I love that, not just for the great pic of a well-fitting shirt, but especially for the list of stores... I spent some time in the Albany NY area, and the local thrift store often had overcoats, suits, sport coats etc. from long-gone local stores... Makes me wonder what McManus and Riley was like... A quick Google search makes me think it was freakin' great...

Roy Thinnes wore some great gear in that show. A favourite of mine. Nice one mate.
