Yeah I think they had some QC fails on the last Spezials, but my Munchen are bulletproof I'd seriously recommend them for putting up with anything you can throw at them, that link I put in the sole brothers thread is good for sussing out any issues with models before buying them

Selective is good - they moved even the production of the Adilettes - which were cut perfectly and still made in Italy until at least 2015 - to China, changed the material from rubbery plastic to fucking awful smelly plastic and raised prices in an absurd way... but hey, true - sometimes you might find a gem. My wife bought two pairs of Allstars two years ago, one pair made in China - cheapo rubbish, inferior quality - and one made in Vietnam, two months later. The Vietnamese ones are good. I had four pairs of Vans, now I have three - those three are pretty good, and one pair - the only one I paid full price for - was a nightmare, lots of scars and loose coming foxing. Guess with Incontinence pants it is similar...

For me the perfect sneaker is and still is to some extent the Sperry CVO. But I find the soles tend to be lucky to last a year. I have some Converse CT70s but they're not really wider enough. There are some crazyily expensive versions of the CVO out there, but since I'm worried the sole would be not better, I've never invested.
