/\ medium-gray tropical worsted ... I wouldn't go with green or white there ...
The jacket is a rescue from eBay anyway, it may never be worn, the traumas of the past may have been too great... We shall see...
If the stains can't be solved to my satisfaction, my other solution is to take some madras and patch the madras over the stains to make a slightly Frankenstein's monster of a jacket... It's a last resort but I think it would actually be kind of a fun GTH move for a weekend jacket, which is what it would be at that point...
/\ someone sewed that summer camp name label on those trunks .... like Teddy was maybe going to try to steal them or something and RFK was a step ahead of him ....

Excellent Bop, makes me want to buy another one!
Update on the J. Press cream-colored jacket. I have it in hand now, and it's truly in beautiful condition. Union made, really beautiful cloth, fits nearly perfectly with no alterations. The lining is in wonderful shape. The stains are simultaneously worse and better than the photos suggested - they're lighter, which is a good sign for getting them out or at least lightening them further enough to be all but gone, but they're also a little more widespread, as there's one on the sleeve which wasn't mentioned in the listing. Under normal circumstances I might complain about this, but I hardly thought I was getting a stain-free jacket when I bought it, so I'm taking the rough with the other rough, as it were... Tracking down the requisite Carbona Stain Devils bottles - will update further when I've had a chance to apply their contents...
