No. British Home Stores sold more Shetland than anybody back in the day. Fact.
Basic garments with no great cachet.
I've still got a few Harleys for sale if anyone is interested.
Again - will never need any more...he says confidently...but Drakes be where it's at for me.... of course...they ain't cheap...but then I'm a flash fecker kids... a frickin' flash fookin' fecker I tells ya... Hit their sales at all cost mind...wonderful bargains!
Has anyone tried these?

Doesn't appear to be saddle shouldered which is a real shame..
The best non-saddle shoulder ones I own are from Pendleton. I don't mind the non-saddle on these because the sweaters (vintage-y) are roomy and thick.
Just came across these: https://www.oipolloi.com/collections/knitwear/products/jamiesons-lambswool-crew-neck-knit-foxglove-aw16#product and got me wondering, what are the main differences between lambswool and shetland wool?
I find lambswool to be finer, smoother, softer, not quite as warm. Shetland being thicker, more coarse, more texture. Akin to comparing a tweed to a camel hair, perhaps.
I noticed the End Clothing has stacked up on Jamieson's shetlands. Decent price, but is it anything to purchase? How does Jamieson's compare O'Connell's?
Got a Leith cableknit (forest green) and it has a nice extra bit of weight and warmth to it. Cheaper than Jamieson (£100 v £125 @ End) but End will discount them eventually.
New options from 'Shetland Woollen Co' @ Oi Polloi, some interesting shades

Received a Harley today and it seems a lot thinner and longer in the body than Jamieson's. Seems a 2ply compared to Jamieson which might be a 4ply?
Was quite shear with a light blue shirt under, despite not being tight. Going to return it.
Anyone seen another good option in white / ecru / cream from a UK company? I think the ones from Trunk Clothing and Kestin Hare are just rebranded Harley.
Might try a 4ply or 6ply from Bosie (Harley) but not sure they can be returned.
Thanks Ian, the JS one's are a little steep but may end up succumbing. Have a Leith cable knit which is great but they have limited stock and no white plain knits.

The appeal of that label, to me, is having it on the inside. If you're going to put labels where they don't belong, put them on baseball caps or blow them up to make them into tote bags, a great idea I had once which no one has done. But I don't want them on the outside of the garment they're already on the inside of.
^Edit - upon reflection, I was wrong about this. See below.
Bought the Shaggy Dog label t-shirt from Rowing Blazers. After looking through the Rowing Blazers lookbook for their JP collab, I have to say I change my mind. I wouldn't wear a RBxJP Shaggy Dogs with a 3/2 sack, but that's not what they're made for. I'd totally wear one with khakis and Tretorns, and I think the more casual streetwear looks are really cool.
I like that RB is trying to expand the reach of prep/Ivy while still keeping it rooted in authenticity, as opposed to creating the fantasy prep Disneyland self-parody that is Ralph Lauren.
Perhaps the label is just tacked on with a few stitches? I reckon there's a good chance that will end up in the 40% off section in the J Press sale along with the other youth market stuff, whereas the classic Shaggys never do. Of course if the label is glued on its Endex.
