Question about Oxxord suits.

l've got an Oxxford suit in front of me at the moment and l have a few questions as to whether it's genuine or not.

1. The jacket/coat doesn't have a full lining.

2. The jacket has NO working buttons.

3. The jacket has no real slot to put a flower on the lapel, only a fake one.

The jacket appears fully canvassed and has loads of handwork all over. lt just seems unusal that a highend jacket like an Oxxford would lack: a full lining, working button holes etc.

l quite like the Oxxford cut. Not as oldmanish as l feared. lf it's genuine, i'll buy a new one next time because i'll feel more confident about the Oxxford cut. l am quite lucky, the jacket doesn't need altering, fits just right. Trousers will need some altering.

Also, gotta afew questions about tailoring.

l'm just curious, if the shoulders of a jacket are slightly too wide, does this mean that the whole suit has to be taken apart and recut. Or will a simple shoulder adjustment do the trick without effecting the balance of a jacket?

Are all Oxxfords created equal or are some better made than others?

Re: Question about Oxxord suits.

You should see the MTM system at Brioni in Australia. lt is a total disaster, the sales guys have NO idea how to fit a suit. They are some of the dumbest clothing and shoe people l have ever met. l tried Brioni's and the salespeople told me l looked great in them. The truth was that l looked like total crap in the Brioni's.
