Hair styles?

I don’t know if trad hair cuts count as “wardrobe” conversation, but I thought I would relate a recent story.

I was at a soiree recently.  After we finished discussing such important topics as -- the differences between George III and Roccoco antique furniture, the wheel base of the Volvo 240D, and the best place to purchase ribbon watch straps, the topic of hair came up.

I said that the tapered look on pg. 43 of the current Brooks Brothers catalog was most trad.  My old chum from school insisted that the Prep Persona No. 3 from the OPH was most trad.  Since I have only been across the room from the OPH and never once picked it up, I was wondering if I could get the other trad’s opinions.

Re: Hair styles?

I've a thread I'm holding back on regional variations in 'The Varsity Cut' in the American '40's & '50's.
We all know 'The Princeton' and we all remember the young JFK's hair, and we all can see that they are not the same.
More than that I'm collecting evidence of (OK, minor) variations in the College Crop in most of the Ivies.
There is a lovely Jewish influence in the Yale take on the Varsity Cut too... O Joy of joys!

Don't it hurt when non-WASPs get all Ivy? Don't it burn ya bad? Don't it make ya wanna post about ya sainted nightshirt? (etc)

Ahem -

Back to my studies...

Re: Hair styles?

Was it Bud Powell or Lester Young who used to say "I feel a breeze" to let people know how he felt?
