Once upon a time - and a very good time it was - there was a 'mod' of independent thinking whose apparel was so svelte and continental he hardly dared leave the car in order to buy a sausage sandwich for fear of of soiling his Gucci driving shoes. In the fullness of time, however, and as his hair grew greyer, he made a miraculous discovery: it was not only permissible, it was the done thing, to dirty your white bucks... And verily he did pareth down and even wore a white t under a cashmere v-neck like the confident gentlemen of Harvard yard...
He did relaxeth into Ivy, and so his heart was gladdened...
Take Ivy: a continuous sloppiness.
A pox, I say, on the sharpness of Anglo!
unironed oxford cloth shirts for everyone ! ! ! !

Some...
Cheeky, are you a fetishist or what?
Only if the lady's name is Ivy...
Seriously, I've begun a definite move away from Ivy Shop/Squire-style sharpness towards co-ordinated but crumpled look. Colours are changing with the season: from madras and mango Sero to classic blues and whites; the woollens are coming out; the thicker Bill's, the heavier shoes. Pea coat or Brooks duffer for everyday wear, Press lambswool scarves. I want to look not aspiring but as if I don't give a shit: fishing hat and saddle bucks, topcoat and Keds...
The really sharp looks don't sit with me either, never did. Most days I end up covered in cat/dog hair, coffee stains and fag ash, with a beer swill down the side of my neck for good measure. Or I brush by the side of my car, which I haven't washed for two years.
Give me the slightly dishevelled and none-too-perfect look any day. Show your clothes who's boss!

Autumn here and so far, it's been rather golden.
Its mild in the SE England but i am preparing for the cold.
Have purchased a Baxter state parka and a Shetland in the last couple of weeks.
A Shetland - pony? Shanks's Pony?
Nice stuff AB...I had some lovely banter with the Dick's people when they first started doing Vetra/Keydge... seems they have more good stuff there then now with the CDW...
I'm delighted to see their Paraboot sandal sold out...and no....don't look at me....*grabs toga*....
^ got a chance to go there a few weeks back, lovely people and a cracking little shop.
That Paraboot sandal would look grand on you Cap'y - all Roman, all Imperial, all the time !
Oh dear...Oh dear oh dear....oh dear oh dear oh dear....
Are we past the TI Watershed moderators?!?
^ Stanshall, beware the company's own website, doesn't show their gear off in the best light (in fact it's shockingly poor IMHO).
'In the flesh' I was very taken with 'em, not quite as '80s shiny' as the photo's appear.
