Each to their own Alex - You do what you do better than most. I'm just trying to cover another end of the spectrum.
For me the shirts are a living classic style. Timeless.

'Andsome!
3.5" lapel? The industry standard for so long post- 'The Boom Years' it would seem. Actually pe- 'The Boom Years' you saw it a good deal too...
Yes and unlike some 3/2 60s jackets I've had in the past, the whole thing seems to be cut as if it were all leading to the centre button like a one button shawl collar tux, and therefore unlike those jackets it demands the button being done up and doesn't hang correctly as an open jacket.
It's interesting.
I have the same thing on a Huntington 3/2 made of green austrian Loden that I bought on the 'Bay at christmas
Well Done That Man!
My yellow vintage one is the same kind of toile - summer weight I guess and a little bit see through whereas the green one is heavier.
I think the label looks older than 83, but of course the store may well have stuck to a vintage style label and seen no reason to update it.
>> Doh! Voile not Toile - Toil was what it took to find one!

^ That's what I was thinking as well. I just noticed the ad above says "about seven dollars at better stores, naturally".
^
great find BoO. I love those thinner lapels on sack jackets.
If it turns out too small, you know where to send it...
Good move. I recognise the style of pics of that seller. How sad is that?!
Weejun, beautiful shoes. So much good stuff on this thread. I know it has been said before but BoO really has the eye for this stuff. He really finds the best stuff. I'm really liking the shirts as of late. Thanks everyone for uploading their pics.
^ Really nice.
We don't see many varsity/baseball/monkey type jackets over here...
Which reminds me, I still need to post the old wool Champion issued for the US Navy I picked up recently.
Thanks '66
It reminds me of a thread I read some time ago on AAAT (that in hindsight may have been Russell taking the p*ss) where someone was asking what a trad could wear to the gym...
That's exactly the classic look I like of that kind of jacket. Dead simple and great colour.
