I understand that, Cary Grant being Cary Grant, more makers than you might imagine were or are tempted to have claimed to have sold to him (let alone "made" for him), when in fact they did not.
Can you tell us what shirtmakers in say New York, for example, made goods for CG?

Richard, I got my copy a couple of days ago and it is a fantastic read. I have not finished it yet, but I can't compliment you enough.
Well done, and I look forward to the next book. David Niven would be an interesting subject, but I wonder if he will appeal to US readers........

Stopped in Carroll & Co. yesterday. If you've got the book, I'm 90% sure that the photo of CG on pg. XV ("head to hose), is a Dick Carroll jacket, off the wrack. Am checking for further details. Apparently it was a very popular pattern/style in '50s H'wood.
