Re: Cary Grant a Celebration of Style by Richard Torregrossa

I love a good story...
CG wearing a suit cut for Martin Landau is a picture I want to see - Doctor Damage?
I LOVE the idea that Mr Grant would look at Mr. Landau and think 'God that man looks good - I want me that Landau Look' & pinch his suit.

NO disrespect to Mr. IL Vecchio. There are a lot of stories out there.

Wonder if Cary was ever jealous of Jerry Lewis?

"He predicted the return of the modern ghillie collar and the four button jacket (all buttoned save the last) in the '90s."

Don't want to divert the thread but Amies was right that the ghillie collar is perfect for a jacket to be worn without a necktie. Of course, someone will have to offer them RTW before the style gets any traction.

Easy tigers, easy - who made Cary Grant's suits is not exactly a life- threatening issue. Maybe my memory of a piece at least 10, probably more years old is not too good. There was I seem to recall a suggestion that CG was slightly annoyed that Martin Landau's suit came from the same maker. I was simply hoping someone could remember the article.

Given the encyclopedic level of information on Cary Grant contained in this thread, and especially Richard's starring role in it and inspiration for it, perhaps this thread can be highlighted as the definitive CG thread, so that it doesn't get lost in the archives.
