No socks. No belt. English shoes, half a century old americana up top.

Navy blue Sanders playboy boots.
Beige high rise summer weight buckle back slacks, the cuffs barely touching the chukkas.
Blue/off-white/brown checked straight hem pajama collar shirt by Sears' Pilgrim brand.
White T.

A lovely old place I'm getting to know increasingly well!   Good call.

The cool of the marble counter is very soothing...

Have you tried the food out back?

Levi would love you & OTP. GG too.

Fairmounts were about 220/230 Euros last year, btw.

The Last Of The Unknown Local Playboys:

black Weejuns
black/deep red/off white Burlington argyles
H&M raw denim 'Original' jeans, kids size with 3/4" turnup
old black belt with brass buckle
old white Van Heusen OCBD
Brooks navy sack blazer
'Gilligan's Island' style yachting cap (OK, that bit's a fib)

Crew on Crew:

Hanes regular in White under a kind of Mossy Green coloured Westaway Lambswool crew.
Tan Five pocket Needlecords and Camp Mocs.
Bean Field Coat in Dark Brown.

Already walked the length of the Harbour this morning and after the rain in the night it's decidedly chilly out. I came home and put on some socks: Mid Grey, M&S. I just thought I'd share that with you.

And as I write it's raining again here now...

Volume Two of The Jazz Messengers at The Cafe Bohemia playing nice and low - Kenny Dorham is just taking a solo. Lovely.

I fancy a bit of toast now and another cup of coffee.

All this rain must be good for Ian Strachan's garden...

Dear me it's pelting down - I have just had to get up to close the windows. Nice weather for ducks.

Horace Silver is now taking a solo - This is on 'I waited for you', btw. A Dizzy tune.

Too wet now to go out for breakfast - A thing I increasingly like to do.

Achy back now as well. It always knows when its raining, even warm & snug in here.

I shall put my lamp on I think... Its nice Amber shade gives out such a warming light...

That's better.

Ooops - Just gone nine, time I started ringing people...

Work, work, work.

I think I shall go to Paris in Mrs Street's absence. I can work just as well from there & the weather might be nicer...

Levi will have had his morning Calvados & Insulin by now. I hope he's putting bleach down the Giant vibrator sink as instructed. Parisian drains are a caution. I shall give him a ring I think.

Anna and I have found a lovely young chap to look after L., btw - Ben, who comes from Toulouse originally. L. keeps trying to get him to give him 'massages'. I supose that one day he'll give in.

Anyway...

Fresh crew cut

The 'Peters'
The Hartford
The Paul Stuart cashmere v-neck in maroon
The chocolate brown Bill's wide wale
Caramel coloured chukkas

This is a look that really doesn't work.  Haircut and basic shopping only.

Sounds nice, especially the choc/maroon combo. As always a great mix of texture.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Like Jim, this morning some Art Blakey has eased me into the day - the raucous "Free for All" in an attempt to clear my hung over state and block out my guilt for getting home at 8am after a night out. Anyway...
A suitably casual mode today:
old b/w stripe M&S t shirt
black merino V neck
501's
brown leather belt with brass buckle
Tretorn white canvas daps
Vintage Campus windcheater - black cotton

And slightly off the subject. Liked the look of these tab collar shirts today. No idea or where they're made or what they're like in the flesh:

Re: Ivy League style for today

I got a fresh new Ivy League college boy haircut as well... Tuesday afternoon... really crisp and clean...

I used to have a more even crop (a la Steve McQueen in Bullitt or like Eric Clapton Yardbirds era) before and an even longer "French crop" earlier this year, kind of an all over crop, only slightly graded, with a Boston back, squared off straight at the nape, and rounded out.

Now, it's more like a JFK or a Georgie Fame, not as short as a crew cut, but it's really short back an sides, with a Princeton back, faded, tapered into nothing . It's not as long on top as the typical Kennedy style, but it's longer than a standard military crew cut and more rounded, more civilian.

It's very smart and neat... conservative, but not square. I like it! I had a similar haircut last year, but it wasn't cut as good as this time...

Clothes, today very "Trad":

Brooksease blazer, white OCBD, red and navy regimental repp, Chino, black socks, black Florsheim Beefrolls... tie is loosened now, jacket is on the hanger!

yesterday night, binge drinking, a more "Mod"outfit:

blue with a small white stripe OCBD, stone Sta Press (the 90s straight cut denim version), brown leather belt, sand Desert Boots, and a brown Levi's corduroy jacket...
