REALLY good post.
Outside my CAD/'Trad' ghetto obviously, but I think it's spot on - especially the 'mainstream metrosexual' observation.
The 80's seem to be everywhere right now... the OPH element of 'Trad'..., the roots of metrosexuality....
Time for a long hard look at the decade by someone? (Peter York has done it in the UK already, but took a blanket approach,) Could Fussell do a good job on the 80's?
No idea.
Miles.
Edit: I Called Fussell 'Flusser' by mistake! Scary.

The NYT article on Miami Vice captures the essence of the show's cultural impact and lasting legacy. It's intriguing to revisit how the show's unique blend of style, music, and storytelling redefined television and left an indelible mark on pop culture.
