I have black swivels and dark green knots.
My does and don'ts are pretty limited
Do: Tails, Tuxedo, White DJ
Don't: Anything else. I just don't do the French Cuff shirt thing with suits.
But I do realize this is not how many others work, I know many use the French Cuff with suits.

Coolidge's got it right, Ernest. And pray tell, what of your friend Ken? Does he not sport the barrel cuff shirt with a suit?

My next pair will be white gold or silver "button" links. With actual linking not toggle. Anyone have a suggestion of where to go to find these or an opinion on the design?
Although they dont do retail, these suppliers make beautiful cufflinks.

Personally, I think whatever links speak to you on the most basic, honest level at first sight and make your heart skip just a little-in a good way-is definately the way to go. One man's "gaudy" will always be another man's "glorious". Also a little note on criticizing others' taste(not that I'm judging): Can anyone remember Agnelli or any of the other "icons of style" doing that? We have to remember that when we criticize others standard of dress(justified or not)we automatically call the style "spotlight/magnifiying glass/microscope" onto ourselves, which may or may not be a good thing.
BTW, being a large, beefy guy, small links looks ridiculous on me. Deakin & Francis have some beautiful polished stone(Don't know what else to call them)links with a cabuchon stone in the center. Nice! I like those.
BTW2, I've always liked seein those "wrap-around" links on the Rat Pack and the Temptations. You need lots of personality to pull those off.

I have some classic ones, some "OK" ones, and some flat-out bad kitsch. Since the latter are gifts from my wife and children, I still wear them and get ready for fights ....
