1) For shirts
2) For shoes
3) For ties
4) For watches
Why ?
Shirts: Kiton, Borrelli, Lorenzini
Shoes: Edward Green, John Lobb, Santoni
Ties: Kiton, Talbott
Watches: Patek Philippe, IWC, Glashutte, A Lange
Why? Because they are stylish and durable.
How about cufflinks, Ernest?
Do you like Arnys? They have Trianon cufflinks.

I've been in pain all morning wanting to jump in here...
Could we ask ernest's Mother to post here?
With respect.
Shirts- I use Paris Shirts because I feel theyre the best. Seen everything else in the USA and nothing else comes close.
Shoes- Edward Green, need you ask why? It's an essay on the home page.
Ties- A bit harder because there seems to still be a lot of good makers. I have always been a devotee of the heavy wovens like Charles Hill/Turnbull and CHarvet. I love that rich heavy woven (sometimes printed for summer) silk that makes a tight, dimpled knot. Carlo Franco is going in the right direction here too.
Watches- Patek and Cartier. Cartier I like for form over function.
I'll join in...
Shirts: Basic Blue Brooks BD. Perfect 'grainy' Oxford Cloth.
Shoes: Wine coloured old-stock Weejuns. Just beacuse. They speak to me.
Ties: J.Press Knits. Best I've ever found.
Watches: Any old Field Watch. The Watch-Strap interests me more.
We should extend this thread -
Suits?
Overcoats/Outerwear?
Knitwear?
That sort of thing.
M.
I'd say I'm less interested in brands, on the whole, then certain stores. If a store that I respect has private label goods, I'm more inclined to just buy what they have, usually. I almost like the idea of a private shop not letting you know who their maker is. If it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for you.
Though I've been taken by Falke wool and Dore Dore argyle wool socks lately. And Brooks button-down oxfords. And Alden shoes. I still like Levi's. Though the good ones seem to be about $175 a pair, more than I think right -- but I'll buy a pair of their "premium" denim eventually.
Ernest,
this from Dunhill would be perfect for you:
