nice compilation of R&B/ Soul sounds by Keb Darge and Paul WEller, someone at modcult found most of them as youtube clips:

Thanks a lot for the heads up over the Keb Darge/ Paul Weller compilation. I loved the rockabilly one in the same series.

An obvious Miles one, Milestones:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRfdlcQ_MZw

The Complete Columbia Album Collection, 52 CD's and 1 DVD is officially out on Amazon tomorrow, 24th.  I've already got mine....but caveat emptor, these are the 20bit and 24bit masters that have been made available over the last decade or so, with the exception of Agharta and Pangaea which are new remasters.  They're not the Japanese remastered versions. Still, even if you've already got most of 'em, still worth buying for the odd 20 you haven't.  But whatever way you look or contextualise it, You're Under Arrest is 'effing crap, no wonder Prince didn't want anything to do with it.

1934 again. Cecily Cortneidge this time

And this is one of the true gentlemen of the theater, much copied in the west end theatre pubs after his appearance at the 1934 royal command performance. Watch him and think of Kenny Everett.
