ACL is moving into being a shop too now isn't he?
Evolution!
Am I the only one who finds it amusing that SF members can attack other members in any way they wish but if someone here laughs at one of them it's vile and defamatory?

Mommy, make it stop!
Tony,
I dont want to get involved between you and Hermes but there are a lot of people that think knowing the technical or historical aspects of some article of clothing (Rightly or wrongly) makes them a better dresser. I have no idea why that is except that some people believe life is a pre-destined formula. I first remember someone telling me that of course a certain girl was duitiful because she was catholic and they're trained to serve. I thought it was rather odd to have people pegged so squarely. But then I realized that they considered themselves fated by background and thus assumed everyone else must be too.
I generally with Tony. Not everyone has a great eye for what looks best on them. Some need guidance from their tailor/cutter, others do not. Some RTW jackets, especially tweeds, look great on the rack but not in the mirror. I have therefore been reluctant to buy tweed bespoke or MTM.
Mariano Rubinacci's success is probably due to his stylistic advice as much as the skills of his tailors, i.e. he personally adds value by reducing customer mistakes. My taste is different but I understand why so many successful people value his advice and services. My taste is also different to Will's but I enjoy reading his blog posts and relatedobservations. His enthusiasm and "joie de vivre" is refreshing.
My contempt is reserved for the fakes, trolls and fraudsters that use the fora to promote hidden agendas. This thread enable us to expose them.
