Corduroy Appreciation Club

Yes, there really is one...

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

Count me in.

"11/11 is the date which most resembles corduroy"?

Wish I'd thought of that one.

Genius.

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

The Hunt & Witherbotham cord is off-the-hook.  I was looking at the 12 or 13 oz stuff.  It's very nice stuff.  Anyone know it?

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

Could this be the famous Yorkshire corduroy used by Cordings, Pakeman, Smart Turnout etc?
Very good stuff.

I particularly love this:

Perhaps Vaclav could found a society for the appreciation of tweed.

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

Come to think of it, I was recently taken to task for wearing corduroy by someone of far from sterling stylistic credentials. When I asked him what was wrong with corduroy, he replied that it's the sort of thing his father would have worn. That seemed proof enough to me of its timelessness, though he might have had a point had I been wearing knickers and a newsboy cap.

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

I would like a corduroy double-breasted suit. I think I've seen one by Caraceni before.

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

Anyone have a good source or two for lighter weight Italian cord?  I wouldn't mind picking some up in brighter colors.

Re: Corduroy Appreciation Club

I have an Italian finewale corduroy suit from Brooks Brothers in a russet hue.

When worn as a suit, it gets a lot of attention--more than I want, generally, so I usually wear the pieces as seperates.  I do like to go full-on some days--GTH?

I love corduroy sport coats and wish I had a million in every possible color.
