This is a nice pair of shoes...

for me to poop on!
A message with a link which ultimately leads to this utterance by Monsieur Kabbaz was sent to me. Apparently, this utterance touches on my opinions and motives about Vass shoe styling. I confess I rarely go to this website but I felt I needed to comment on this hilariously egregious inaccuracy:

The derogatory comments made about the styling of the Vass shoes betray a provincialism which is only to be expected.
Msr. Kabbaz said:
Sadly, provincialism is not the reason. Gabor and his wonderful Vass shoes have become somewhat associated with me through their participation in the two Sartorial Excellence events. There is an overwhelming enmity between the owner of the new forum and I - among others, for which Vass is thus paying a portion of the price. There is no factual basis, be it provinciality or any other, for the defamatory statements he has written about Vass shoes.
The idea that I dislike him enough to go after his business associates is an astonishing revelation on the importance he feels he plays in my life. He can believe whatever he wants, but it is untrue that I care about his existence. To the extent that he had a large amount of control on another site and was an unavoidable everyday obstacle, may point to his hatred for me, but it is a one way street. I have heard from someone, whose taste I think sound, that he makes a nice shirt.
However, I will not accept that it will conveniently constitute a personal attack against him every time I comment disfavorably on items he may have associated himself with commercially. I will continue to comment on my likes and dislikes with complete integrity and without influence by any party except my own tastes. If people don’t agree, they are free to say so; they are also free to counter with more speech supporting the product I am critiquing. The operative word is “freedom”. You won’t find me banning or conspiring to ban people for their opinions about clothes. Continued character assassination, well that is a different story.
Let’s take a look at the factual development of the Vass shoe thread on the filmnoirbuff.com forum. If you take the time to read the thread, you will see me asking others to refrain from a “free for all” on the shoes, enduring counter arguments about the shoes stylistic merits, and asking posters to move along and not dwell on critiquing Vass shoes. I understand someone wrote an article on Vass shoes in response to my two or three comments. They are welcome to post their point of view as well. I am not afraid of free speech or robust debate about the product at issue. Oh I must say, for a board that is laboriously portrayed by some as insignificant, its opinions seem to stir them up quite a lot. We will continue to express our opinions without fear or favor.
I find Vass shoes to be slightly uncomfortable for my feet around the arch. I feel like I slide around in the shoes. I think that the U last are lovely and the others are a bit repulsive.
This showcases how despite Kabbaz's messages of not wanting to perpetuate any drama, he himself is actively and willingly pursuing it with claims of sartorial hubris.
