Strangely enough, I see pyjamas. Striped, worsted cashmere pyjamas.
Which brings me back to this cloth. I almost chucked it! Now that I am doing a certain 60s/70s + Rock thing, it sort of works again. Wonder if I should use those scarves. Silk lining slides, or rather you slide around in it. Maybe just a bright red?
I should be fair and mention I saw this man wearing a midnight blue jacket with a much thinner ochre stripe alternating with a self stripe with a very casual shirt (Printed? cant remember) but it looked quite good.

The Striped blazer has worn by mods from the start, when it was a small scene in the jazz clubs and coffee shops of Soho in the late 50s. I recall seeing a photo of someone in one in 1959. This is from 1964.

Brian Jones in striped blazer rock n roll
Whatever the merits of the fabric durability or design...
Such Blazer worn with any degree of sagging facial skin or signs of aging in the neck, risks tilting the overall effect from "devil may care" to "too trying' to be".
That said, you just have to suit yourself.
