When ordering his suits, my friend has his tailor make him up a vest with each suit. He sometimes wears his suits with the vest, and other times not. Does anyone else here do that? It seems that if you are going bespoke and have a suit fitted to be worn with a vest that it would not fit perfectly when you dont wear the vest. To me kind of defeats the purpose of going bespoke. Anyway my friend tells me it does not make a difference. Opinions anyone?
Also, and I know this topic has been discused before, but how many of you where braces with two-piece single brested suits? I happen to like the look, is it "proper" or rule following to do so. I know, rules, rules, rules...
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I routinely wear braces with 2 pc single breasted suits, which is what most of my suits are---In fact, my trousers are designed for braces although I wasn't aware this was a topic of debate.
I am with Marc, my three piece suits fit the same with or without vest. Also, I wear them a lot sans vest. Vests are becoming increasingly misunderstood over here.
I dont see an issue with braces with a 2 piece suit. If there was ever a rule against it, it's dead. I wear belt loops, daks style waist band, English back and side straps. I havent tried a self belt but that cannot be far behind.
By the way, there are no outside vest specialists remaining in all of NYC, the last one going to the big cutting table in the sky a few years ago. Tailors wince when clients order a 3-pc suit as they have to assign the task of making the vest to a coatmaker, which is time consuming and not cost efficient.
