I do like those longwings. I wish Vass made some, I'd get a pair (in a pebbled burgundy maybe).
What's with the lacing? For some reason I really get hooked up on crossed lacing on fine city shoes. I can't help noticing it.

The criss-cross lacing seems the standard style for US shoes.

This straight lacing method is a very good method below: the lacing pressure is more balanced along the instep than the typical lacing method used in the second diagram.
Good balanced lacing where pressure doesn't build up

l've always used straight lacing because i'm lazy and it's quicker to adjust and tie.

Great shoes. That's a lot of Vass derbies though... I like the Budapest or U models better than the other one, not sure why. Do those have the 360 goyser sewing, or just on the front part of the shoe?
I have inclinations for a Budapest pair in bordeaux and black scotchgrain... Or dark cognac and brown, maybe without brogueing, maybe with a vibram sole...
