Kudos to the Jaguars coach for wearing a suit and tie in last night's game against the Giants, instead of the usual slob outfit. P.S.-they won.
The Jacksonville coach and the coach of the 49ers (if I recall correctly) had to get a special dispensation from the league to allow them to wear suits. For many years the policy has been that coaches must wear NFL licensed apparel on the sidelines. I've always admired Patriots coach Bill Belichick for taking that policy to the extreme.
As to the maker of the suit:
"Jacksonville Coach Jack Del Rio is usually all business when it comes to football, and he looked it on the sideline Monday night. Del Rio became the second coach this week -- and only the second since 1993 -- to don a coat and tie for a game.
After receiving permission from the NFL to wear a Reebok-manufactured suit, Del Rio donned a dark one, matching the all-black uniforms his players wore against the New York Giants. He sported a white shirt and teal tie."

Yep, given the league's deal with Reebok, you can be assured that Reebok will be the "tailor" of any suits worn by NFL coaches. There isn't enough licensed apparel worn on the field by the players, fans, other coaches, shown on billboards, commercials etc. God forbid, if the coach wears a suit, everyone will run out and sell their Reebok branded clothing and buy tailored suits

He seemed a bit stiff in the suit. My guess is that it's off-the-wrack. He's no Pat Riely in the style department, but yes, let's give him kudos for trying.
I just can't see it, though, starting a trend. Mike Holmgren, Bill Parcells, Bill Bellichek--they're too rotund to take to the suit. Although if John Madden can pull it off, maybe they can too.
I've always thought Joe Theisman's suits were very smart.
I suspect Reebok's suit manufacturing is all done under licence and off-shored these days. O tempores! O mores! I remember their bespoke days well. Floating canvases -- the nine yards!

I thought they were joking too about Reebok making the suit. Reebok? Well, it sort of looked it. What's next? Surgical appliance Oxfords?
