Thanks Shooey. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you discover.
lt's amazing how all these good shoe designers turn to Moreshci for inspiration when it comes to black loafers. l've always been the same, my black Moreschi loafers are some of the most inspiring shoos in my collection.
The only Australian maker putting out true `goodyear welted' shoos are R.M.Williams. Everyone else does `blake-rapid' as there goodyear shoo.
wow shooey, this john sounds exclent!. I'm still waiting for the lasts. about 4 1/2 weeks now, i'd say bruce is on overseas business because he didnt respond to my email and he's usualy very fast to reply. I figgured the benchmark would be 3 weeks as that is springlines time for bespoke lasts. I understand the process will be a long one but could you ask him if he would be intertedted to make a pair for someone else (i'd be happy to pay for material is he refuses payment for workmanship.) I've been hanging out for my lasts to show up!
Keep it up, your work is invaluable

i dont think you'll get too much exposure itf you stick to FNB and avoid the masses on styleforum, aaac ect. i totaly get your concern about these artisans getting hassled by idiots.
you still keen to get a blog happening?

i found a book a while ago from an Australian maker. http://www.shoemakingbook.com/Index.htm handwelting and all, i've toyed with the idea of making them myself, not to sell but for a personal collection. you might want to touch up on RM. Williams lasts as thats where bruce works from (and then adjusts to your foot) i chose the RMW B529 last as it is similar to the JL 7000 last, the one used on the City II if i'm not mistaken. the city's a nice shoe.
When were you planning tp see bruce? I'm expecting my lasts any day now, i'll throw up some pics when they arive in the post.
