My brother just popped in & out sporting this:

(Bottom item). Looks fantastic in real life & looks fantastic on him.
A bit '30's & yet somehow bang up to date and cool the way he wore it. Nice work, Matt.

Interesting. I have a green tweed single breasted coat. I should wear it more, no idea what Im saving it for.
Any reports from him as to fit, comfort, quality etc.?
I agree. More members of the Lean family should post here.
Young Matt is away for the weekend now but I tried the coat on last night despite him being a rather more substantial man than me and the cut, fit, finish & quality were very good for RTW I thought. It is a heavy coat though - You wouldn't want too many layers underneath even in Gloucestershire. He wore it with jeans, Jodhpur (sp?) boots & a cashmere crew which updated the look a lot.
I suspect even he is now leaving 'Fogey' behind!
Looks good. Terry, who do you think makes the most "authentic" gangster coat today? That is the covert with the velvet collar, in midnight blue or black. The one favored by the Krays? Also is this sort of coat "costume" or "carciature" today in England? Or can one still get away with it?

Best books on Hooliganism? And films? There was one book by an American journalist -- I don't recall the title, but it was incredible. And disgusting. And somewhat compelling.
