An iGent who probably doesn't have quite enough money to be buying bespoke shoes loses his mind over delays and communication problems and takes the shoemaker to court. He also takes the usual Gentlemen of the Fora step of smearing the merchant's name all over the internet (or at least crossposting on AAAAAAAC and SF). I have no idea if these shoemakers are honest but I know for sure that you're doing something wrong in life if your custom shoe order ends up in binding arbitration.

Arbitration, the ugly side of the middle path. Avoid arbitration like the plague, better to fight it out and least one side wins.
I waited a long time for some shoes I ordered and also some for repair from Tim Little in the UK, it went on for several months, they were pretty embarassed by it all, especially when I sent them a number of drunken email tirades late at night.
In the end, they sent me a new pair of shoes instead of repairing the old ones along with the new ones.
So in all in all, it turned out a pretty much a win situation for me.
What these iGents need to realise is that sometimes there may be problems in the supply chain and your quality product may not be as readily available as the usual Timberlands the iGent wears when not pretending to be a Trad dandy online. You have to be patient and not give the vendor too much of a bad time, expedite them, but don't piss them off, unless they're really taking the piss.
