A Good "Trad" Thread (So Far...) -

Post Number Two is mighty fine work from a brave and honest soul.

Mr. Poling is bang on the money too (business as usual).

What will post Number Seven bring?

Re: A Good "Trad" Thread (So Far...) -

I really think that what we are seeing is that AAAC "Trad" is absolutely a modern FASHION 'movement'. It's all about today...

... And, entertainlingly, it's being overtaken by the Post-Neo-Preppy-Yet-Proto-Neo-Ivy 'movement' which is equally all about FASHION and all about NOW.

- And it's been great fun having a hand in orchestrating this online zeitgeist!

... And ultimately, if it can be done, we then have a real "American Trad". A Trad with Tradition.

Meet the new Trad, more Trad than the old Trad!

Re: A Good "Trad" Thread (So Far...) -

Much talk regarding all of this BTS, but the boys really have to do this one for themselves. They got 'Trad' off the Net & now they have to evaluate & question it. Just joining in with a thing because you like the sound of it does not give it any historical credibility or value. They can be AAAT 'Trads' or American Traditionalists - But not both as things stand just now. Their call, as always. Turn 'Trad' into something real rooted in history & reality, or be up front that you're just some online goof. A 'HistoryDoc' with no grasp of History. The punchline in somebody else's joke.

Or just toss a coin if the above is too much brain work.

They have an opportunity to create something with 'Trad'. But that won't be done by just hanging on to all the pleasing fantasies & lies of 2004 to date on AAAC/AAAT.

1) Question the name "Trad" and its origin.
2) Question "The Curriculum" and its origin.
3) Build from there.

Easy-Peasy. There has never been more information about Classic Traditional American style online - Use it. Start with 'Trad' by all means and then get yourself an education - You'll find that if you do that then you won't stay 'Trad' for long. OR you'll use your newly-found insights to improve 'Trad' to make it worthy of the name 'American Traditional'.

Best -

And today I commend Mr. Joe Beamish:

So -

'A' or 'B'?

Horace or Harris?

Reality or 'Curriculum'?

FNB or AAAT, as they both currently stand?

This is Trad's chance to raise its game and it CAN be done.
