Indochino suits
Hi guys,
I wondered if anyone here has already ordered from Indochino.com and what you think about MTM/bespoke/custom (however they call it - it's hardly ever bespoke/custom) businesses on the internet.
I'm pretty interested in those kind of new trends happening and a while ago I took the plunge and ordered a MTM shirt online. I am a tall and slim guy, I had some shirts in the area of 100$ and well-known brands that just fit lick bags and were way to short for my body (always untucked). When I started my job I hated that and it took me a while to find out that a custom made shirt looks just much better - and costs much more. Then I found out about MTM shirts online in the price region of around a 100$ and I was positively surprised by both the quality and fit (compared to OTR shirts).
A bit later I stumbled across Indochino - they sell MTM suits. Soon I found out they are not the only ones, but what makes them stand out imho is their great focus on customer satisfaction. I was annoyed by the fragmented information on Indochino I found on the web, so I set up my own blog to fill the gap and gather as many reviews, tips and tricks as I can. It's up for only some days, but is attracting 100+ unique visitors a day already.
I ordered a suit from them too and now I'm impatiently waiting for it. I am unsure if they actually offer a good product, or if it is mainly good marketing and good reviews from guys who don't know what a really good suit looks like. I was so lucky to get one truly bespoke suit (Knize in Vienna) from my dad, so I know how high the standards can be. Of course, it can never compete with it, but will it compete with my 600$ OTR Boss suit or the equaly priced Paul Smith suit? What are your opinions on the whole matter, any experiences?
Oh yes and this is my first post - I hope I haven't violated any rules

I got so excited by the prospect of purchasing ill fitting polyester suits made by children in Indochina, I purchased seven. I was really pleased, even though they haven't arrived yet and I don't know the difference between MTM/bespoke/custom or an AAAC artisan and the local piss artist in the chinese take-away.
And that's why I set up my own blogspot in praise of ill fitting polyester suits - its attracting over a 100 deviants each day, who otherwise would be on the streets and a threat to your offspring. I figure its a public service.

I hate polyester crap suits and agree that the fact that they even offer it is disturbing - most is 100% wool though, except the lining. (I had one from H&M when I was 16 and sweated like an idiot), I said it wasn't bespoke/custom but at max MTM. Afaik they pay fair wages above the average and care for their employees and probably Boss, Lauren etc manufacture there too, with less transparent conditions... I could go on, but your little parody might as well just have been a general rant? I understand you certainly don't like it, fair enough

the "gray corporal jacket", in addition, looks perfect for carrying several days worth of cigarettes in a handy and easily accessible manner.

no, I just saw you guys linked somewhere...but I don't have the time and energy to earn an insider status on all message boards, so I think I'll let that thread die. especially as you don't seem very interested?
