Re: A Nice New Watchstrap For The Summer:

like the stripe but  would prefer that pattern on a  standard band--non Nato-
I am for whatever reason tiring of the whole faux military watch look and   and I (would)like the  stripe on a beater timex-I have sort of assumed that   military watch w/stripe has  a  UK origin-can you substantiate this?( a neat look and smart turnout pulls off many looks well but with weakness of Yankee dollar I hope these places are getting  most of their  biz  in Europe.

Yeah, & the classic Timex is hardly huge either. My point is that making up 'approved' measurements for watch dials on the MBs is just a load of... you know.

Ditto trouser cuffs, if you choose to sport them.

Our Fathers and Grandfathers used to enjoy personal choice. Personal choice is "Trad"!

Give it a spin, if you haven't already.

S'nice!

FYI - Haven't used it but saw this on the "Andy's Recommendations" page:

'mention "AskAndy" and get 15% off your order at Smart Turnout!'

Yeah, that's one of his deals on the back of "Trad" - Baracuta too.

Business is business!

Re: A Nice New Watchstrap For The Summer:

I was military for 6 years. I've been a civilian for 50 and see no prospects of narrowing the margin. I was at a party. This poseur with a military cronograph as big as a Cadillac hubcap was regaling potential bedmates about his time in the USAF hurricane patrol. I'm drinking with a personable guy who looked like Don Knotts. He finally spoke quietly;' you're lieing.' party goes dead silent as he produced his USAF officer's I.D. card and related he WAS a pilot in the hurricane patrol.
I just put a down payment on a vintage Bulova mechanical, restored by a retired USAF pilot yikes) He has a black leather italian strap for it.

Have you ever tried on a Citizen Skyhawk - it weighs about 3 ton. Citizen is in the same league as Tissot, an adequate product spoilt by not being rare enough.

Most watch brands use to market 3/4 size watches of most of their models. Oris does this with some of their more traditional watches.

Those braided nylon bands eventually collect body oils, dirt and sweat and literally stink.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Re: A Nice New Watchstrap For The Summer:

Simple pull-through bands, made from the same mesh as the tropical NATOs, cost only a few pence. I picked one up for my little rectangular Hamilton. Very comfy.
