Patches are ill-advised for the numerous pear-shaped men on the foraz. The extra layer of cloth, especially if it's a tweed, adds width in the worst place possible.

^ I would wear that colour blue and darker regardless of whether or not a gentleman would. After all, a gentleman might wear a tie with little pheasants on, which just goes to show what he knows about style.

I like the way Vox obscures part of his face but you could still pick him out in an identity parade.

What was his role on the forums in the old days before he started doing one-liners ?

The iGents remind me a lot of people who have just gotten into road bicycling. As with clothing, in cycling you get know-nothing ingenues obsessing over technical details, many of which are wrong, misunderstood, or just inessential. People who would be perfectly happy with a middle of the road aluminum bike from a value brand like Jamis or Giant get all obsessed with kitting out an all-carbon superbike that weighs 12 pounds including the saddle and costs $7,000; they almost always ignore the tiny amount of good advice out there in order to do this

They then have the bike set up with spacers so that the handlebars are at chest height and they can ride around sitting bolt upright like they remember doing when they were kids. They end up with something that looks sorta like a racing bike, costs as much as a racing bike, but isn't a racing bike and doesn't transform them into Lance Armstrong. In some cases they go well beyond this and end up with something like The World's Greatest Madone (which you may enjoy if you know anything about bikes):

I think the zero-to-500 attitude is the curse of learning about something on the internet, without a real life context or any moderation from people who actually know you (as FNB frequently argues). This is why Ask Andy is full of college kids worrying about fedora etiquette and wanting to wear Oxxford suits to their English 101 lecture.
