It took years of girls telling me about this show before I finally watched an episode or two that happened to be on re-run. The only way I would go to this film is if I were dragged by a girl with serious promises on the back end.
I went with my wife to see it last night. She was a big fan of the show. I found it moderately entertaining, even though I had only a vague familiarity with the characters and the background. My wife gave me a brief briefing just before the movie to fill me in a bit better. Certainly, I have seen a great many films that I liked less. I have discussed this matter in more detail in the thread on this topic in the "Entertainment" section of SF.

Just the name of the show/film is enough to turn me off. What a silly attention seeking name....too Americanized for us aussies. Besides, l hate going to the movies.

I still haven't seen the Simpsons movie...and I love the Simpsons.
I still can't get over the fact that I missed the Spongebob Squarepants movie. I don't even remember it in the theaters. I mean, WTF?!

I was in university and this redhead in my circle was playing a wierd headgame. She was a looker and would go out on dinner and concert or movie dates with each guy in succession. She would have the date moving along nicely and then explain she was VERY turned off by sex after a rather wild past. The date would wind down abruptly, the unexpected psycho cuckolding aborting any remote desire for a second date right after an expensive dinner. Group comparisons and input from other girls only confirmed she wasn't a lesbian but simply frigid fruitcake.
My turn came and We went to a theater that ran vintage movies. They played THE MORE THE MERRIER with Jean Arthur and my onetime nieghbor Joel McCrea. There is a scene that bests all the obligatory lip lock ass grabbing sex scenes to date. Joel is sitting on the front step holding this phallic airplane propellor with Jean, talking about everything BUT, playing with her shoulder as he gets her as wound up as that prop. And, in the dark I sensed Red was slowly squirming in her seat and breathing funny. The movie ended and we went for curry at a indian place. Hot spices made her doubly flushed. The psychological castration failed to make it's entry in the conversation. In fact, she was talking drinks at her apartment. I volunteered to show her a magic act. I had her hold both arms out straight, placed our full water glasses on her upturned palms precariously balanced. She looked at me and asked " What's the trick?" I replied as I rose "I disappear" leaving her to pay for dinner.
I haven't watched many movies lately, not at the ticket price anyway.

One of the things l liked about the movie was Mr Big's custom couch. lt was an 18 month wait for it to be made.
Still...nothing better than a beautiful leather chesterfield.
Here's a perfect couch:

I have a leather and mahogany chair like that! It was custom made for some exec who must have read about setting up offices to command his turf- something like the 'power tie' sillyness later. He must have screwed up because it went unclaimed. I bought it for the balance due and had enough money to buy a green glass banker's lamp. It's on a blood red rug from Transylvania and one of Guagain's tahitian nude prints- with all 4 limbs on the wall flirting with a russian icon of Saint Hermann. I was to broke for delivery, and it took two hours walking it home several blocks. But when I tired it was simple enough to sit down while people drove by looking at me strangely.
