I bought a similar shoe twenty years ago. Obviously not this brand, it was a inhouse product for a men's store.
I just got them from my cobbler and will give them a revial this summer.

Belgian shoes are a variation of monk shoes.
They are a sideline for when the monks are not producing strong beers.
The best ones are never advertised. You have to go to the monastery to collect them.
