I'm A Frag Hag

I went on a bit of a fragrance jaunt recently to the New York fragrance mecca, Aedes De Venustas, and to Barneys uptown, and experimented with several mostly esoteric "artisanal" houses.  Despite several clunkers, I found a few that I quite like...

Hits
Hermes Terre
Hermes Equipage
Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien
L'Artisan Parfumeur: Mechant Loup, L'Eau de L'Artisan
Frederic Malle: Vetiver Extraordinaire
Acqua De Parma
Acqua De Biella
Diptyque Philosykos
Santa Maria Novella Melograno
And, believe it or not, Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene

Misses
Diptyque Oyedo
Serge Lutens Daim Blonde
Mandarina Duck
Gendarme

I was using Aqua di Silva for a while. I really like Terre d'Hermes and picked up some yesterday. I think it's good to stay with one fragrance and get rid of the old ones when you get bored with them.

I wear several different Creed fragrances Like Tabarome as well as several Trumpers like Wellington and Extract of Limes and Milk Of Flowers; and now I am trying this Truefitt and Hill "Clubman".

I prefer old-fashioned musky scents and one that I particularly like is Kolnisch Juchten by Regence Parfums Paris.

Apparently only one store in the U.S. carries it and it is not even available on the internet.

The scent + bottle are great (IMHO).

Re: I'm A Frag Hag

Today Drakkor Noir has been replaced by Aqua di Gio as the "high-end" fragrance to aspirants.

Re: I'm A Frag Hag

Acqua di Gio, though, contains notes of "fruits, herbs, and woods," whereas DN seemed to contain nothing but pure beastly testoserone.

Re: I'm A Frag Hag

Another great fragrance, though seemingly impossible to locate (If, indeed, still in existence) is the original Dunhill cologne, first made in 1934, I believe.
