Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

As a hat wearer, I just couldn't get into the whole "vintage" thing. Most of those folks look like they stepped out of some '30's/'40's movie set. If that's their schtick, more power to them, but it's a shame that they had so much influence over "Classic Style" magazine. I had high hopes for that but it wound up as the "lounge" in print.

Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

^In fact, after reading "Classic Style" magazine, I began wearing fedoras a lot less. It made me realize how costume-y it could be.

Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

Fedora Lounge should have a cigar sub forum and a Hawaiian shirt sub forum. Those interests overlap.

I am not sure I understand the Hawaian shirt thing.

Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

OK... I've read both of your threads bashing the Fedora Lounge and people who wear HATS.

I have two words for you.

FUCK YOU!

OK, I lied... I have a few more...

We (the Men in Hats) know... that you faux fashionista boys all grew up, playing with Barbie dolls. And you all wish you were Barbie instead of being born Ken. That's your problem.

We are G.I. Joe.

Who ever died and gave you the right to make fun of other people's tastes?

And then, some of you copy and post pictures of people from the Lounge to poke ridicule at?  And yet you're such a gutless nutless bunch, that you don't even post any pics of yourselves. How cool are you? And BTW, that big guy? He's a cop. Watch your mirrors.

I thought we were all in this together. Bringing back old style (that should have never gone out of style).

Y'all should just change the name of this place to Film Noir Butch Bitches.

I'd tell ya to kiss my fuckin ass but... I think y'all would get too excited at the prospect.

So go fuck yourselves,

BRUNO

Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

Old style that should never have gone out of style, like posting pictures of yourselves for a variety of strangers and being upset and angry when other people don't do that? Interesting.

Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

Well...

I'm drinking beer. AND I'm getting mine.

These forums are famously chickless. So look who's talking.

Standard practice to turn it around on somebody, eh?

I have to hand it to you guys. You haven't kicked me out yet.

My language and exuberant support of hippie fashion has gotten me booted from a couple o' hat forums. Including the one that you think I'm defending.

Fuck thefedoralounge, but don't hang that hat on me.

I'm an old fuckin hippie. What can I say?

Maybe you idiots need a hat forum around here?

I'm up for being moderator.

Bruno

Re: Fedora Lounge reconsidered

Some of what I'm bitchin about is in the first thread about thefedoralounge http://forums.filmnoirbuff.com/viewtopic.php?id=5610

A lot of that is just uncalled for.

Maybe the spirit of the mood here has changed since then. But, it's definitely uncalled for and sorely lacking knowlege of hats.

I truly think that a better knowlege about hats would change perceptions around here.

They weren't just fashion. They were needed as much as those shoes on your feet.
