Polo overcoat picture request

Any pictures of polo overcoats that members would be willing to share?

Thanks!

Very fond of that coat of FNBs.
I couldn't pull it off myself, but I like the luxury of the thing.

Re: Polo overcoat picture request

I just saw a polo coat at Brooks.  Camel hair.  I assume that for the price of $1000 it was RTW.  It had all the right details.  I also looked at the Thom Browne stuff.  Some of it, like the herringbone suit with the narrow lapels and 3/2 wasn't bad.  I wish it wasn't fully lined, but that was the only drawback I saw.  Shoulders looked good.  I think it was obscenely expensive though.  Over $2000.  There were a couple of shirts in the collection that the guy said incorporated details from Brooks's historical archives.

I'd like that cut in a Mid-Brown medium Herringbone Tweed.

The same Tweed that Magee are using for thier 'Sherlock Holmes' overcoats just now.

Re: Polo overcoat picture request

Yes, sadly it would be 'vulgar' over here.

Chums, an interesting bit of difference, eh?  The ol' polo coat was standard Brooksian kit here for many a year.

Prince Charles often wears a very Retro cut overcoat. Some say it was his Grandfather's, the late King. Not sure how true that it.
Even Charlie's coat stands out over here as being a bit 'off'. A bit of an affectation. The sort of attention drawing stuff that a certain kind of TV antiques pundit might wear:

Re: Polo overcoat picture request

We're all wearing our dogs in that style this year. I've a pair of Poms on the go as we speak.

"These dainty little dogs sparkle with character and friendliness. They look like miniature foxes, with an outercoat which has long, erect hairs and a thick undercoat, giving them the appearance of a ball of fluff. They move freely in a bouncy and buoyant way."

Sounds like me, eh?

Mmmmmmm -

"Poms come in twelve colours! Choose from black, brown, chocolate, beaver, red, orange, cream, orange sable, wolf sable, blue, white or particolour."

I like to match my Poms to my socks.  You?

Re: Polo overcoat picture request

How does a polo coat differ from a 'British warmer'?
