Aquascutum is under new ownership

It has been bought by Harold Tillman after the Chief Executive brought in by Renown tried to turn it into another fashion brand.

I hear that Tillman plans to return the business to its traditional roots. I visited the Regent Street store a couple of days and the raincoat range had been minimised. There were only a couple of overcoats and they were nothing  special.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

Interesting.  Their site online has been a horrible sight the last few months.  They've completely taken away that trad db trench.

Tentatively good news, but sometimes the new owners turn out to be bigger idiots than teh idiots they are replacing.

I called the Regent Street store a couple days ago, to inquire about trenches.  They do take mail orders over the phone, and they had a nice promo: the Kingsgate was BP475, instead of 700 or 800...  We'll see how it turns out.

No I ordered the classic Kingsgate over the phone by calling the main store.  They shipped it to Paris, no problem.

I love it.  I think that it looks better than the Kingsway, which shoulder patch seems subscale to my eyes.  Now that I'm back in Seattle I get to wear it with some regularity....

I still would also like a shorter, sleeker raincoat, if only for cases when I'm driving.

I think single breasted is better for shorter coats anyway.  In any case, I suspect this model is very tall, which is not my case.
