Re: All dressed up and nowhere to go

Not been to any of those restaurants, they're obviously dumming down on dress code to get in the punters; either off duty footballers or gangster chav rappers.

If I'm going to a top restaurant i.e. one that I've picked based on a known pedigree and not an Italian one the missus's friends have invited us to (where frozen pizzas and acrid tasting wine will be on the me and you), I will make the effort in that I will be immaculate with jacket and tie.

If I want the best food, top wine and impecable service, then I'm going to be dressed for it.

Going out to eat for me is an event. Can't stand dinner parties, or cooking myself, I like the whole event of getting ready, going to the restaurant; the ambience, talking to the head waiters and if they now their stuff, you can be entertained and educated on wine.  Sadly, I get very little chance for this know on account of the kids and the mortgage.

That's that little bar at the front, isn't it? Rivoli? Next time make them take you into the real dining room and you'll want wear a dark blue suit and polished black oxford shoes. Good for The Ritz though. The better clubs all keep their ends up too.

As the forum title is, same thing happen with me also. One day me and my friends all dressed up we have to go for a birthday party but then the b'day boy has cancelled his program, then we decided to go for the road side snacks, since we do not have sufficient money.

Does the food taste better when you're wearing a suit?
