Roger Whittaker seemed to be around a lot when I was a nipper. A bit like Val Doonican and Andy Williams. 1960s TV was better than now. You had stuff like 'Steptoe And Son' and 'The Man From UNCLE'. It all went pear-shaped with 'Trumpton'.
"Every Saturday I get the Chigley skins, and they always break my windows 'cos the home side always wins"
A song dedicated to Mick McCarthy and his team of Wolverhampton Wanderers thugs. Fourteen cards, a sending off and a broken leg in two games.

'Roy was dead right to call him a langer'. He was called worse yesterday. Shame because he comes across as a reasonable sort in interviews....
Some kind of strange nostalgic saudade has gripped me this eve and got me all misty eyed:

that's probably one for the Beatnik!
John Cale sneaks in there - another Taff.....
Just had great fun skipping though this thread. Lonesome Sundown and Nara Leao are new on me. Loved The Cramps, Daniel Johnston,The Pogues too, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe with her mean guitar.

Bob Delyn is a strange ferrit mushroom type figure. Not as dangerous as this band though:

^Bloody hell, hadn't heard that for some time!
This one's from Springsteen's The Promise sessions, never made onto Darkness on the Edge of Town album, use to have this on a great bootleg, hope it makes it to the expanded reedition Darkness due out in November:

Not a huge Brubeck fan but the horn players make this version unimpeachable.
