Is it true that we don't care where products come from as long as they're well-made?

And if Savile Row tailors farm out suits to subcontractors who aren't English, is the resulting product still an English-made suit?
These are still made in England...

I think and hope that all of Barbour's oilcloth offerings are still made in England. It appeas they've sold off all their old stock hats through discounters, which is a pity, and now go the horrible S, M, L, XL et al labels for hats too!
I have some of their socks (bought a few years ago) that I really love. All sizes and styles. Good stuff. Best color args (in the contry style) I ever bought.
To repeat via paraphrase what someone else said on another thread: what really gets me is when a company continues to sell something at a premium price and that something is made in Estonia or wherever. Not to say that the Estonians aren't capable of quality, but I'm not paying $400 for a quilted jacket from E. Europe that was the same price made in England the year before.
off-shoring passes on the savings to the customer. Indeed.
I understand that wages are so high in the U.K. that the British feel forced to outource labor abroad.
