Deleted my good natured posts here because they were out of place.
I'm a big fan of Ken & I enjoy Patrick's stuff too in a different way.
Golly the net is a minefield.

Re: Literary scholars on another internet message board

You are thinking of the accountant who clings desperately to European norms (of dress, work day and structure etc.) in an attempt to retain his sanity amidst the chaos of the outer station at the mouth of the Congo River. "Heart of Darkness" is definitely worth a read, and not very long.

Thank you, PB. I knew I could count on you to come through with that. It's certainly a quote worthy of this forum. Have you cross-posted it in the Random Sartorial Quotes thread? If it's not there, it should be.

I'm pleased to report that their literary scholarship seems to have improved:

The poster Dopey seems to especially feign an erudite façade.

Re: Literary scholars on another internet message board

Well guys  you know I should not think myself alone here but certainly secluded in the woods as a sapling that I am when you guys are full grown trees so to speak.

I do not know Mr. Bateman from Mr. Peres but I do know we can all have a bad day or something sometimes just hits us the wrong way or in my case I write so poorly that it can be understood about anyway at all.

Regardless of all that I can say that if and when possible its best to forgive and forget or even to write a PM and try to get things settled.

I have seen a simple message board scenerio cause violent eruptions and life altering consequenses.   While I am sure that should not be the case here, it has happened to me.  To my amazement I choose to use the fools wisdom for my benefit when possible but it still just plain don't feel good to be relentlessly attacked over something that should have passed in a single posting and would be nice if people could get along.

With that said its a fantacy so go at it boys smile
