A field day with the Row turfed over and full of sheep to promote the Campaign For Wool. In fact, it looks like a good and interesting event with tours and talks in the big houses.

I will do my best to be there and take incriminating pics of iGents in their natural habitat doing what comes naturally.
Matthew Farnes has posted pictures here - http://picasaweb.google.com/114780749727292742885/SavileRowDay#. There are some familiar faces, e.g. Hitchcocks Snr and Jnr.
Farnes' pictures are interesting. Not everyone is wearing a suit that fits or flatters, but some of the stuff is great.
Best of all - someone has Crompton's suit on! - http://picasaweb.google.com/114780749727292742885/SavileRowDay#5526886715274538514

YouTube video of the event here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0LtQBwXW1s.
My god, what a horrible event that must have been. Poncy types, pompous types, aging tropy wives, FOO!'s older brother, sod, sodomy, and some "gentleman farmer" standing about in Standard Issue British Farmer Tweeds.
Good think I wasn't there, and armed. The urge to start mowing down attendees with an Uzi would have been irresistable.

John L - it is good for people to understand something about country life and not just dismiss it all out of hand. The irony is that on the most expensive shoots (especially grouse) the only people who can afford them are the bankers and city types who have trouble knowing which way round to hold the gun. What a waste!

Wasn't the elephant shot a joke, rather like 'the elephant sandwich'? As to sawn-offs etc., isn't there anyone around here to advise on all that?
