Am I wrong here?
'Town' clothes just don't work in the Country, but 'Country' touches can add a lot to town dress.
Is it because 'Town' clothes in the country make you look so overdressed (which is always in bad taste) and elements of 'Country' clothing in Town always look so wonderfully & agreeably relaxed? A little cool even. The antithesis of 'trying too hard'.
I'm thinking out loud here...
Sense?

Unlike a lot of people, I've never had a problem with wearing, say, a Barbour over a town suit. This is a nice casual way of staying dry for city workers who aren't hard-core City (if you know what I mean).
Brogues are okay too.
But people being people will always push-push-push until they are wearing farmer's clothing in the city (although I have not seen overalls yet, except on the urban pimpin' crowd).
I think the Ivy approach is best.
Ivy isn't city nor country.
But it's not flat-cap and welly either.

I think that has a great Italian cool about it.
Good Work, Sir.
They could always wear the Squire's cast-offs...
