I tried the handwash bit for a while myself. I couldn't sustain it. I got a long lecture from Bugelli about handwashing, detergents, etc. It was evident that I shouldn't risk sending these shirts to just any commercial laundry.
So you're a Leonardo Bugelli aficionado?
Over the years I've used Bowring & Arundel (r.i.p.), Dege, Geneva, David's, Ascot Chang, Bugelli, and Lemmi (Perugia). Bugelli did the best. Worth a journey. He doesn't travel, unless you're in Japan.
I just throw mine in the washing machine.
One of the benefits of using good old Acorn 100's broadcloth.
I thought Acorn 100 was for single use only.
l send my best stuff to Bancrofts. lt is the recognised place in the Southern hemisphere for certifying the cream of the cream of dry cleaners. Only 5 places in Australia are properly qualified in the green methods (none in Sydney). Expensive but they do a great job. No toxic chemicals, in fact you can put the dry cleaning materials in your mouth to no ill effect.

Thanks, Terry. I hand wash my Siviglia shirts, but, your cleaners looks like a good option. Raphael uses, as I do, a small Chinese dry cleaners in NYC that is excellent, too.
I only trust Mrs Bishop with my H&K's.
my local guy around the corner at least knows how to do a good roll on a lapel
l handwash all my good trousers, shirts and sox in cold water only. Have done so for many years. Jackets naturally get a dry clean occasionally at Bancrofts.
By the way, for those in the San Francisco Bay Area, I recommend the cleaners at Sharon Heights in Menlo Park. I never brought my shirts since I wash them myself but they dry cleaned and hand pressed (by request) my trousers and the results were astonishingly good. Way better than the local "prestige" cleaners... This one is a "mom and pop" business with that special pride in their work. I would expect their shirt cleaning service to be on par.
Here are more laundry tips for travellers -branches of the C. Berry franchise of dry cleaning and steam pressing operatives:-
Well if you ever plan to motor west
Just take my way that's the laundry that's the best
Clean your shirts on Route 66
Well it winds from Chicago to L.A.
More than 2000 miles all the way
Clean your shirts on Route 66
Well it goes from St Louis, down to Missouri
Oklahoma city looks oh so pretty
You'll see Amarillo and Gallup, New Mexico
Scottsdale, Arizona(*) don't forget Winona
Kingsman, Barstaw, San Bernadino
(* Scottsdale branch may involve slight detour)

Buying some shirting cloth from his ex wife was unpleasant enough for me.
