Re: When bespoke wishes and fabric dreams go wrong

I think DB is too much suit for that pattern. It would be better as a SB. Obviously the tie, shirt and shoes are crap. The handkerchief is wrong. The pose makes him look like a tosser and his shirt sleeves are too short. If you're going to wear such a bold pattern - not my thing personally - then breaking it up with some plain at the cuffs is helpful. Also the turn-ups are ridiculous. Having them on a patterned suit is dodgy but they look to be about 4".

Agree with the white shirt - or pale blue. The tie needs to be bright (red) or deep (blue/burgundy) and plain. Black shoes obviously - if you want to accentuate the dandy thing then a wholecut would work.

Re: When bespoke wishes and fabric dreams go wrong

I have a big soft spot for NYC Rob.

Instead of his usual too tight jackets and trousers and crazy colours, hes reached into his wardrobe and slipped into an old suit. Its not my cup of Earl Grey but I reckon it works for him.

The trousers have a bit of material to hang and sit well,  the jacket the same. His trousers actually meet his shoes and he looks all the better for it. Just goes to show.

I haven't pulled the image in because its bit big but you can see it here:
