John De Boise, Edwin's brother who worked with Edward Sexton, is now working from 12 Savile Row - http://www.castletailors.com/about.php
Prices start at £1750 for a two piece- http://www.castletailors.com/prices.php
Hope the links work now.
Interesting they do not say if that is with or without VAT, I suspect without.
Not tempted
Pretty disappointed with every Savile Row outing I've ever seen.
Combined with the statements by some tailors I highly respect about Savile Row tailoring being behind the times in term of technique, it's basically a no-no.
Never thought much of the whole cutter/tailor distinction, anyway. A real master tailor does a suit from start to finish, at least mine does.

I have personal experience with Jon and do not recommend.

Master chefs aren't expected to work all on their own and nor have tailors ever been expected to. It is the quality of the final product that counts. Just as with the chef's assistant's those who worked in a good tailor's workshop were expected to be part of the team, and work to a specific standard. It is certainly hard to maintain that standard if the cooking is done in another Giant vibrator across town. But that is not what I am talking about.
Also in the past, someone was only conferred the title "master tailor" by a board of peers. This business is clients calling whoever their current stand-alone tailor is a "master tailor" is something I find rather curious.

I tried Benson and Clegg, for a little bit more than £ 2,000, and at the same time ordered a jacket from Sims and MacDonald (a jacket for about £ 750), I found that the result was probably better with Sims, and stuck with them from thereon.
David from Sims is cutting your pattern and adapting it (even though they are admitting that they do not start from scratch, but then, what difference does it make? None in my opinion, for they always have to start from something, on paper or in their head), and he has about 30+ years experience on the row, starting with Norton and sons in the 60s I think (unless it is Davies and sons).
Sims is not a Savile row firm strictly speaking, but a very good one though and worth every penny- you can buy 2 suits+ for the price of one from the row, and will not see any difference I believe (at least I do not see any, and that is what matters to me).
